Hawaii's pride is in its abundance of nature; the trees, the rocks, the sand, all contribute to the beauty of Hawaii. Many button down shirts use plastic buttons, but this is not Hawaii. Our shirts are made to represent Hawaii; to spread the spirit of Aloha: love and togetherness (and yes, it also means "Hello/Goodbye"). Hawaii, like all the other states, consider littering a crime. We think it is a crime to also litter our shirts with these clear plastic buttons because the Hawaiian shirts represent our State. Instead, we use coconut buttons to give the shirt design, uniqueness, and culture. Most importantly, it gives the shirt a voice to say "This is Hawaii."
